PDM Launch in Kisoro to take Place in Rukundo TC

A total of 57 people from Kisoro district will today receive the first of many electronic payouts, under the Parish Development Model.

The function that is expected to be graced by Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs Sarah Mateke Nyirabashisitisi as the guest of Honor will take place in Mugatete in Rukundo Town Council.

Bufumbira North Member of Parliament Hon. John Kamara is also expected to attend the event.

Kisoro District Commercial Officer Geoffrey Kazungu says the district currently has 65 Saccos with more than 4 billion Shillings.

Kazungu says several enterprises have been selected to benefit in today’s launch that include Piggery and Irish potato growing for commercial purposes.

The money from Government is meant to increase household incomes and boast the money economy in the country by 39%.

The PDM will create Wealth, Employment and increase Household Incomes.

Kisoro Resident District Commissioner Hajji Shafiq Sekandi says Rukondo Town Council was selected because most of the applicants managed to get the all the requirements right within time.

He explained that more people will keep receiving funds after the launch.

Sekandi however said Sub Counties including Kirundo, Muramba, Nyarusiza and Nyarubuye among others do not have a single person who has managed to successfully complete the process in order to access the funds.

He called on all the beneficiaries to desist from wasting Government money and consider investing it wisely to avoid being hunted down, arrested and prosecuted in Courts of Law.
