The Chief Executive Officer for Misiunea Speranta for Uganda (Hope Mission) in Rubuguri Annah Nyiranziza has asked Government to provide a more conducive environment for its Romanian investors, or the communities, especially the Batwa risk losing out.
The comments were made earlier this week during a function organized by Hope Mission to celebrate Christmas with the Batwa and the entire community of Rubuguri.
Hundreds, in attendance received the word of God and were later treated to a Christmas lunch in the presence and company of district leaders.
The Kisoro district LCV chairperson Abel Bizimana, the Chief Administrative officer (CAO) Badru Mayanja as well as the Kisoro deputy Resident District Commissioner Robert Tukamuhebwa listened intently, a sign that helped restore warring confidence among the investors.
Nyiranziza used the platform to deliver the organization’s end of year report where she highlighted several achievements including the enrolment of 145 children at Hope Mission Primary School, admission of 40 children at the Hope Mission Children’s home.
Nyiranziza says construction of the hospital building stands at 80% however the dispensary and clinic are operating, providing free medical services to the entire community of Rubuguri.
She says the un-resolved conflicts being caused by Lift-Up Jesus Ministries led by Bishop Kiiza Aloysius and his wife Margret have destabilized the entire community and threatened the safety of the Romanian investors.
“Kiiza’s agents with his wife keep on coming to disturb the church. Under Ms. Judith Oroma from State House Legal department, Kiiza requested that the church be closed. No party was allowed to access the church and Vicinity; however, it is unfortunate that Kiiza’s team come to use the church and none of them have been arrested for breaching the RDC’s office orders”, Nyiranziza explained
Kisoro district LCV chairperson Abel Bizimana said the Government is committed to ensuring the people of Rubuguri and Kisoro at large continue to benefit from such partnerships with the Romanians.
Bizimana further asked the investors to develop a strong resolve and remain firm despite the trials, both physical and spiritual because the matter is being handled and will be resolved.
Hajji Badru Mayanja, the Kisoro Chief Administrative Officer says he is prepared to support the investors, only when the district council agrees to pass such a resolution to that effect.
