The chairperson of Nkuringo Conservation and Development Foundation Tumuheirwe B. John has filed a Police case of Domestic Violence against his wife and three daughters who allegedly attacked him, beat him and destroyed properties worth 2 Million Shillings.
The suspects that include Hope Nahimana 59, Moreen Tuhebwa 33, Julia Twinamatsiko 22 and Judith Tusasibwe 30 years are set to appear in court after being detained at Kisoro Police Station for two days.
It is alleged that on the 13th of February 2024 at Kashija Village, Rubuguri Town Council, Kisoro District, the four women willfully and unlawfully damaged and destroyed tables, chairs, crates of beer and soda worth 2 Million Shillings.
Hope Nahimana is also accused of beating her husband and chasing him out of his house.
Voice of Muhabura radio contacted Mr. Tumuheirwe John for a comment but he politely declined to comment on the matter.
Who is Tumuheirwe B John?
Mr. Tumuheirwe was recently elected as the chairperson of NCDF, a multimillion organization that promotes conservation and social- economic development for communities bordering Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with support from Uganda Wildlife Authority, International Gorilla Conservation Program among others.
He is a retired Politician and prominent businessman dealing in minerals, tourism and agriculture.
Community Liaison Officer with Kisoro Police Arinaitwe Boaz said the case has been forwarded to the office of the Resident State Attorney who will decide if the case must proceed to court.
He advised married couples to desist from domestic violence but find a way of solving problems in a peaceful way.
