KISORO; With only Six days remaining for the tenth parliament to be dissolved, Residents hailing from Muramba Sub County have expressed their joy towards the Bufumbira south outgoing MP, Hon Sam Kwizera Bitangaro for whole heartedly working towards fulfilling his political pledges before stepping aside for the Member of Parliament elect.
On 5th May 2021, happy residents revealed their joy to voice of Muhabura as they watched tractors Open up a Road from Gishondori village heading to Burungu village through Kanombe weeks after it was launched.
“We are so delighted for our member of parliament Sam Wachu, he is a man of his own words, and a man that fulfills what he promised even after losing an election, “Residents say.
Tractors excavate through Rwerere land
According to residents, the 6.8KM road that will cost the government over 700 million shilling will boost production in Muramba sub county by easing transportation of farm produce.
“Our Irish potatoes in the Democratic Republic of Congo were decaying, the roads were impassable. We believe on the completion of this road, even transport we be low and we shall reap a lot from our produce, ”Nzitatira James said.
They say that by fulfilling his political pledges, Hon. Bitangaro is confirming his integrity and love for the people.
Hanyurwa Shebba, a tourism investor and a resident of Muramba Sub County, says that the road being opened up in the area will also boost both local and international tourism as transport of food staffs to hotels will be quickened.
“We have been facing difficulties in transporting tourists and Irish potatoes for use in our hotels; however the improvement of this road will be significant in the tourism sector,” Sheba says.
He continues to narrate how votes are gained from such heroic acts of development. “Of course leadership is about working for the People, Sam lost an election, and here he is still working for the People. Let other leaders borrow a leaf from him for a betterment of Uganda.” Sheba adds.
The Muramba Sub county LC3 Vice Chairperson, Nzitatira James appreciated Mokaki Investment Company Limited that accepted to sign a contract to work in an a poor terrain.
Nzitatira commended Hon Sam Kwizera Bitangaro who lobbied for over 700 million shillings to start road construction that will provide a good network in the area.
Meanwhile, In Nyakinama Sub County, residents are jubilating that the same MP is fulfilling the pledge to light the area through rural electrification.Electricity poles lay alongside a road in Rwaramba parish.
