The Bufumbira East Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. James Nsaba Buturo on Thursday 12th August rewarded 24 best performing students who sat their S.4 exams from schools in his constituency with Mattresses worth 2,160,000 million shillings.

While delivering these mattresses scientifically to students and their parents at Tourland cottages, Hon. Dr. James Nsaba Buturo said it was a calling from God that made him to reward students who attained first grade in schools located in his constituency.
Hon. Buturo says he feels wise to gift best performing students because it can create a competitive learning environment which will in turn increase performances. He added that other leaders will borrow a leaf and start to reward students in their localities.

He attributes the good performance among students in his constituency on teachers, parents and students good relationship.
“Thank you teachers, students and parents for coordinating well, that’s why students performed well,” Buturo says.
On behalf of teachers, the head teacher of Kabami secondary school, Sebacuruzi Fred applauded Hon. Dr. Buturo for supporting education in his constituency. He added that many students would have passed well but the covid-19 effect disadvantaged them.

Dr. Nsaba Buturo for his contribution towards education in the constituency which is likely to promote a competitive spirit among secondary schools in Bufumbira East. He appreciates teachers and his fellow parents for supporting learners by providing all necessary requirements despite covid-19 challenge.
“rewarding these students motivates other students in lower classes to compete for such kind of rewards, it also promotes a competitive spirit among Bufumbira east secondary school which will in turn encourage better performances in the subsequent years,” says Kwizera.
First grade students also appreciated the legislator for his passionate love towards promoting education. They pledged hard work in subsequent levels of education.
“We thank our Hon. MP for his affectionate love and care towards learners that he has come in to reward us. This will motivate us to perform better in the next level of education,” said learners.

Among the rewarded students are 11 from St. Gertrude girl’s ss, 5 from great land ss, 3 from Kabami ss, 3 from Mutolere boy’s ss while two are from Bufumbira Adventists vocational school (BAVOS).
