Parents and guardians at Kisoro Municipal Vocational Training Institute (KIMUVOTI) have hailed the institute for providing quality skills to their children.
Located in Kamonyi cell, northern division in Kisoro municipality near voice of Muhabura radio station, KIMUVOTI is one of the highly populated institutes in the region at only five years old.
In the parents, staff meeting at the institution on Monday 24th April 2023, different parents commended the proprietor for this institute because it has greatly reduced on their spending in educating their children at such a higher level.
According to them, their children used to move to other districts in search for vocational training institutes, making it costly to them.
Parents also noted that their children that have graduated from KIMUVOTI are having a successful career compared to those that studied in other institutions, a sign of professionalism and hard working instructors.
Other Parents commended the institution’s administration for being friendly especially on fees issues. They demanded the administration to make extensions of the institute to other parts of the district.
According to the institution’s principal Tumwizere Michael, KIMUVOTI started in 2018 with a major aim of training unemployed youths in the municipality on hands on skills to create their own jobs but was later opened for all people and upgraded to also offer business courses.
He noted that the institute currently have over 350 students enrolled in different business and vocational courses while over 500 youths have been graduated since the institution’s inception.
KIMUVOTI proprietor and former Kisoro Municipality legislator Hon. Sam Byibesho commended parents for always playing their role, a reason that has made the institution to flourish.
He asked students to love their courses if they must benefit from them in the future. He added that the institution is likely to become a university in the future because it has got all required services.
Byibesho revealed that the institution has applied to the ministry of education and sports to start offering Diploma courses. He also highlighted that the institution has started weekend programs for some courses while Wi-Fi services have been installed to facilitate online learning.
