The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairperson for Western Region, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has said the Party is willing to work with the next generation of visionary leaders under General Muhoozi Kainerugaba and the MK Movement.

The Kinikizi East Member of Parliament Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, who also serves as the current Minister for ICT and National Guidance said the ‘MK Movement’ is a group of young visionary men and women who are eager to respond to the needs of Ugandans in all the areas the NRM party has failed to resolve.

The comments were made yesterday during an MK Movement Baraza held at Kanungu Playground in Kanungu District where Rtd General Kale Kayihura represented First Son, General Kainerugaba Muhoozi as the Chief Guest.

According to Dr. Baryomunsi, having General Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the next in line to succeed President Yoweri Museveni guarantees a peaceful transition of Political power in the country.

He advised the MK Movement to build capacity and sensitize the public about the great works of General Muhoozi has performed away from the spotlight of Ugandan Media.

“It is important to note that President Museveni is still at the helm of Ugandan Politics, showing no sign of lethargy. The President has declared that he intends to run for top office in 2026 therefore MK Movement must remain in standby mode until when the time is right”, Baryomunsi explained.

Kanungu District LCV Chairperson Eng. Sam Kajojo who represented all district LCVs in Kigezi region said that the biggest challenge hindering development in Kigezi is poor tourism roads, low prices for tea and unemployment among youth.

The Chief Guest, Rtd General Kale Kayihura said MK Movement under General Muhoozi has the potential to lead Uganda into the future but only if Ugandans truly understand who the man behind the MK Movement really is.

Kayihura praised General Kainerugaba for his diplomatic abilities that helped end the deadlock between Uganda and the Republic of Rwanda that lasted almost three years.

He further observed that General Muhoozi possesses the skills and fortitude to deliver positive change in the Country, an attribute his father Mr. Museveni and many other freedom fighters in the country carried, resulting in the overthrow of a tyrannical Government under Obote II.

It offered great relief to General Kale Kayihura to know that a delegation from Kisoro traveled to Kanungu to show their support and solidarity as well as endorse the support over to General Muhoozi Kainerugaba and the MK Movement.
