Man kills wife in Kabale
The Police in Kabale are investigating unclear circumstances under which a 36 year old woman was killed by her husband.
The deceased has been identified as Asiimwe Phiona a resident of Kacerere “B” cell, Kacerere ward, Ryakarimira town council in Kabale district.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson said the deceased was allegedly cut on the neck with a panga by the husband Sigirenda Wilber of 48 years old, of the same address.
It’s alleged that yesterday at around 8pm at her home, the suspect reached there, found the victim who is his second wife out of three already in the house and children already asleep, forcefully opened the door, attacked her and cut her neck and died instantly for yet unknown reason.
Sigirenda after the incident, went to the home of the first wife Musinguzi Peace. When she saw him, she realized something was wrong and she took off, in the process, the son Tumuramye Rogers surfaced to the father and he also cut him below the ear.
Maate said it was at this point that police was notified, went and arrested the suspect but unfortunately the suspect seemed to have taken poison or drugs, looked very weak and is now admitted unconscious at Rubaya health centre four.
The case of murder was registered at kabale central police station under reference number CRB 672/2021..
