Two people injured after Bus Overturns in Kanaba

"It seems the Jaguar bus driver was trying to catch up with the Gate way Bus that was ahead of him. Once he caught up with him, he attempted to overtake in a dangerous part of the road, that’s why he lost control", eye witness account.

A score of people traveling in Jaguar Bus this morning, heading to Kampala from Kisoro narrowly survived death after the bus failed to negotiate a corner at Kukanyarurambi, in Kagano village, Muhindura Parish, Kanaba Sub County.

The bus, registration number UBF 736G  overturned and fell to one side injuring at least two people while others walked out of the bus counting blessings.

The two injured persons, were quickly rushed to St. Francis, Mutolere Hospital, according to acting Kisoro O.C Traffic Otole Yofase.

An eyewitness who spoke to Voice of Muhabura says, the Jaguar bus was over speeding.

“It seems the Jaguar bus driver was trying to catch up with the Gate way Bus that was ahead of him. Once he caught up with him, he attempted to overtake in a dangerous part of the road, that’s why he lost control”, eye witness account.

Acting O.C Traffic Kisoro district Otole Yofase cautioned bus drivers and other road users to be mindful adding that festive seasons often record high numbers of road accidents.
