The Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) Spokesperson Brig. General Felix Kulayigye has urged supporters of General Kale Kayihura to patiently wait for the legal processes on his Court Martial case to be completed ahead of his planned retirement from the Military in August this year.
While speaking to Voice of Muhabura, Brig. General Kulayigye said General K.K will be among the 110 General Officers and Senior Officers to retire from the army on August 31st 2023.
According to Kulayigye, President Yoweri Museveni directed that Kayihura along with other senior serving army officers be retired however K.K’s fate hinges on the completion of his legal woes in the Court Martial.
He urged the people of Kisoro to remain calm and wait for the Court to make its pronouncement on Kale Kayihura’s case.
A July 2nd post on Twitter from Kisoro District LCV chairperson Abel Bizimana shows Kale Kayihura surrounded by loyal supporters from Kisoro chanting, free at last; at his country home in Lyantonde.
The people in the video include Kisoro district Vice chairperson Alex Ndyambaje, Nyarusiza Sub County LCV Councilor John Mfitumukiza (Torch) among others.
A section of residents from Kisoro have openly shown their support and solidarity towards the former Inspector General of Police and son of the soil.
