Prominent Businessman and Philanthropist Ceasor Augustus Mulenga has described his late father, Didas Umushirahamwe Uwiragiye as one of his greatest inspirations towards succeeding in the world of business.
The Late Uwiragiye, who was laid to rest earlier this week succumbed to Cancer at the age of 81.
At the time of his death, the well revered elder had saved up to 500 Million shillings.
According to King Ceasor, his father’s dying wish was to give the money to the church and ensure it is used towards roofing of all Catholic Churches that are still under construction in the district as well as tiling the floor of Busamba Catholic church.
“My late father was very enthusiastic about work and about Money, I believe it is where my passion for business and for investment stems from, I will miss his words of counsel but I will forever be grateful to him”, Ceasor Mulenga explained.
Multitudes of people turned up at Gisoro Catholic Parish to say their final goodbyes to the Late Didas Uwiragiye.
Main celebrant and head of Kabale diocese Rt. Rev Callistus Rubaramira reminded Christians that it is important to work hard while on earth to ensure you live comfortably while helping others but the most important treasure, is the spiritual one.
High Profile Send Off
The Minister for Information Technology and National Guidance Dr. Chris Baryomunsi who represented President Museveni said families need to develop love and resilience during difficult times.
Hon. Dr. Baryomunsi said President Museveni was deeply grieved by the loss of an elder. He noted that the NRM Government recognizes the contribution of Ceasor Augustus Mulenga in the business and Education sector.
Dr. Baryomunsi urged the public to use the available resources like the Covid-19 vaccine to protect themselves from the deadly disease.
State Minister for Youth and Kisoro District Woman MP. Hon. Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateke called on families to ensure there is equity among children.
She noted that the girl child needs to have as many opportunities as the boy child, if Uganda is to realize development.
Kisoro District LCV chairperson Abel Bizimana applauded Mulenga for his contribution towards promoting holistic education for young people from Kisoro and all over the world by offering Scholarships to the needy and vulnerable.
Other high profile dignitaries who were in attendance include the former Chief Justice Bert Katurebe, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Henry Okello Oryem, former Agriculture Minister Tress Bucyanayandi, Bufumbira South MP Eng. Alex Seruganda, Kisoro district RDC retired Captain Peter Mugisha among others.
The Late Uwiragiye of the Buzigaba clan was laid to rest in Busamba and is survived with 14 children, 44 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
