Police in Rubanda district are holding a man who allegedly assaulted her wife over domestic violence.
The suspect is Kyarikunda Gideon, a resident of Kabirizi cell Nyakabungo ward in Rubanda district, who assaulted his wife Nyiramugisha Olivia of the same address.
It is alleged that the suspect returned home from a social evening at around 7pm and found the wife at the neighborhood which annoyed him. He then went to pick a sharp panga and severely cut her on the right side of the neck.
Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Matte told Voice of Muhabura that the area LC1 Chairperson Silver Beyaraza notified police who rushed the victim to Junamagara Health facility, where she is currently getting medication in a stable condition.
An attempted murder case was registered at Rubanda main police station SD 38/09/07/2020.
