The PDM National Deputy Coordinator Jovrine Kaliisa has condemned the Kisoro District Commercial Officer and Parish Chiefs in the district for frustrating potential beneficiaries of the Government program by asking for bribes.
Kaliisa said complaints of negligence among Parish chiefs have been registered alongside inability to properly sensitize the masses on how to access PDM funds.
The comments were made yesterday during an inspection visit by Kaliisa who held a meeting at the Kisoro district Council Hall before proceeding to Nyundo Sub County.
Poor mobilization of community members surprised the National Coordinator who interfaced with less than 10 people because others had allegedly not been informed of the meeting.
Nyundo residents, while before Kaliisa said the Parish chiefs demand for 5000 Ugandan shillings per person in order for the paperwork to be expedited.
Others said, there lack of education has hindered them to understand the processes of opening up bank accounts and other requirements needed.
While at Kabahunde trading center, several residents demanded that those responsible for sensitizing communities about PDM should be arrested for their incompetence.
