Nyakinama S/C: More than 50 Million Shillings raised by Christians in Weekend thanksgiving

A total of 56 Million shillings was yesterday raised in Cash and Pledges from Christians towards Kiduha Catholic Eucharistic Center found in Nyakinama Sub County, Kisoro district.

The highly anticipated event did not disappoint as it managed to attract the affluent and the ordinary class who came seeking, both to give back to the church and to receive spiritual guidance from God.

Lead Organizer and former Nyakinama LCIII chairperson Joseph Muhozi thanked God and the entire Kisoro Community for supporting him and his family during the hardest of time.

Muhozi noted that Kiduha Eucharistic center is particularly important to him because he recalls all the times, he nearly lost his life during road accidents, the financial losses and health challenges his family had to endure.

Mr. Muhozi and his family along with some of his friends raised a contribution of 11 million shillings towards the church.

“Some of the challenges my family and I have had to endure are not unique to us only, many of us have gone through them while others, never made it out. Starting Kiduha Eucharistic Center is my way of giving God all the honor and glory he deserves”, Muhozi explained

Muhozi commended the role of the Bishop of Kabale Diocese Rt. Rev. Callistus Rubaramira as well as the efforts of Late Rev. Fr. John Vianney Mbonigaba who received the idea and worked towards its success.

Chief Guest and Prominent Businessman Ceasor Augustus Mulenga encouraged all Christians to freely give of any financial assets back to God because he is the one who can change any situation.

The Philanthropist in the Education sector, who recently buried his late father pledged to pay off Church debt amounting to 26 million shillings.

Mulenga also promised to complete the roofing project of the church.

Other high profile members of the Kisoro Community including the Director of Voice of Muhabura Prince Trevor Mugenga raised a total of 6.8 Million shillings towards 17 Lorries of bricks.

Kisoro’s Affluent Class going to give their offertory

The area Member of Parliament Hon. Eng. Alex Seruganda thanked the People of Nyakinama Sub County for having trusted him with their votes.

He promised to continue supporting such projects as well as bringing development to the entire region.

The Curator Gisoro Catholic Parish, Rev.Fr. Elias Kasigire, in his homily called for the continued love of God by repenting and always forgiving one another.
