Health workers have been urged to develop a positive attitude towards their work in order to serve their communities better.
This was during a two-day workshop which started on 14th August 2024 at Kisoro district council hall, attended by a number of health workers and health centre in-charges from various health centers around the district.
The workshop was organised by the ministry of health to sensitize in-charges on how to improve on immunization performance, care for pregnant mothers, supervision among others.
Prossy Mugyeni, the Senior Technical advisor from the Ministry of health asked the in-charges to develop positive attitude and remain committed to their work.
He urged health workers to perform well and perfect their work saying that God will recognize their work as well as the community they serve. She also advised health workers to avoid things that can endanger their career as public servants.
Dusabe Annet, the assistant Kisoro District health officer, called for cooperation among health workers and their superiors for effective vaccine management.
She also advised in-charges and other health workers to apply for official leave before they go to upgrade their studies, so as not to lose their payroll.
Ms Dusabe also warned in-charges against closing the health facilities which taints their work as public servants.
While closing the workshop, Hagumimana Vallence, the Kisoro assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC), called upon health unit in-charges to improve on service delivery.
He also warned health workers against absenteeism at work, or else face consequences.
