It is alleged that the two motorcycles were traveling in opposite directions when one rider, operating motorcycle registration number UFH 513S and heading towards Kabale, lost control and veered off his lane.

He reportedly collided head-on with another motorcycle, registration number UEW 824U, ridden by Mugisha.

Mugisha died instantly at the scene, while the other rider, who was carrying a passenger, sustained critical injuries.

Both victims were rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, where the injured rider was later pronounced dead.

Kigezi region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed the incident noting that traffic police from Rukiga visited and documented the scene, and both motorcycles have since been impounded at Muhanga Police Station pending inspection.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
