Dusabe noted that some health workers who are still being investigated are selling Covid Vaccination cards illegally at a fee of 70,000 Ugandan shillings.

During the weekly Covid-19 district task force, Dusabe said that it had come to her attention that a section of civil servants especially teachers had resorted to buying vaccination cards without taking jabs.

The development comes following a call by Minister of Education and Uganda’s first Lady Janet Museveni who said all teachers must get the Covid-19 vaccination or risk losing their jobs.

An official from Ministry of Health who preferred anonymity said that people involved in forging vaccination cards will be caught because the original cards from the ministry of health have security seals which reflect the details in the data base.

He further noted that people involved in this illegal business are the ones who give the country a bad image and need to be punished.

The Kisoro District Covid-19 taskforce vice chairperson who doubles as the deputy RDC, Ndikumwami Dan says that whoever will be arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Ndikumwami Dan further warned health workers not to go against their ethics of work by selling vaccination cards to people who are not vaccinated.
