Independence week at 59 is here; and how blessed we are to be alive, free and liberated!
We need to give thanks, Covid- 19 has claimed lives of loved ones, family and friends in Kisoro and across the globe. We are so lucky to be alive, and yet we are still have reason to make noise about how the world is unfair, and rightfully so.
Productions officer Dr. Herbert Ngabo interdicted over 54 million shillings, Kisoro District Health officer Dr. Steven Nsabiyumva accused of being inconsistent, unreliable and undependable in financial matters, Ndambajimana denied twice but on the third try, is approved as Kisoro district next LCV chairperson.
The Kisoro district Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Ismail Onzu Musa also castigated the Kisoro District Health Officer (DHO) for failing to account for funds in his department.
According to Onzu, Kisoro DHO Dr. Steven Nsabiyumva continues to contradict himself and has failed to maintain his stance about financial matters in his department.
Onzu further noted that he is prepared to travel to Public Service Ministry and Ministry of Finance to request for a supplementary wage because of a 1.4 billion deficit in the health department.
The week is young but its events call for a weekend break, some wish it could just end.
Recruitment Process flawed
The Kisoro District Service Commission came under attack from the political wing who accused the office of the CAO of advertising without prior notice.
“This is our Government, we are not interested in who will take the job but how many jobs are available, we needed to know”, Bizimana said.
Bizimana further warned the Secretary to District Service Commission Francisca Rwakare against working clandestinely and favoring sections of the public.
Nambajimana Approved as LCV vice chairperson
The LCV councilor for Central division Alex Nambajimana has been approved and sworn in as Vice chairperson of Kisoro district and secretary for Health.
Nambajimana Alex was sworn in after the Kisoro district LCV chairperson submitted his name to be his vice chairperson and secretary for health.
The district council denied Nambajimana’s request twice in the last two council. This week, the councilors expressed an epiphany, a sudden realization that Nambajimana was actually the right choice. Hmm!!!
What about Johns the Torch?
In politics, a sacrificial lamb candidate is a candidate chosen to contest an election despite the fact that he or she has little chance of victory. The political party thus appoints the person as a sort of “sacrifice” to the stronger opponent.
Nyarusiza LCV councilor Johns Mfitumukiza was denied and that’s the final say.
