Christians raise 10 Million Shillings to tile Muhanguzi Catholic Church

The Chairperson of Laity at Mutolere Deanery and Rubuguri Parish Asgario Turyagenda said the objective of the fundraising was to raise money to buy tiles for the church

A total of 10 Million Ugandan Shillings was yesterday raised by the Christians of Muhanguzi Catholic Church, under Kinanira Parish, Busanza Sub County, Kisoro District.

Gatete Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Safari Emmanuel, who was the main celebrant, said it is important for parents to prioritize education for their children because it is one way of securing the future of Kisoro District.

He pointed out the need for communities to pay their tithe and offertory in order for the church to become self-sustaining.

The Chairperson of Laity at Mutolere Deanery and Rubuguri Parish Asgario Turyagenda said the objective of the fundraising was to raise money to buy tiles for the church.

He also called upon the communities of Mupaka Town Council and Busanza to educate their children. He said he believes one day, schools in Busanza will be able to get a grade one in Primary level.

Asgario Turyagenda contributed one Million Shillings towards the activity.

The Speaker of Mupaka Town Council Hafasha Emmanuel commended the Christians for their unity to develop the house of God.

He pledged that his council will follow up on all children who do not attend classes when the academic term re-opens in February 2024.
