The Kisoro district LCV chairperson Abel Bizimana has said the departure of Rtd. Captain Peter Mugisha from the office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) is a huge sigh of relief for the people of Kisoro district.
Bizimana made the comments yesterday while receiving Kisoro district’s latest RDC and his deputy, Hajji Sengobba Shafik Sekandi and Robert Tukamuhebwa respectively.
According to Bizimana, the outgoing Cadre was always embroiled in conflict because he failed to be impartial and often interfered in Kisoro Politics.
When asked how he would remember Rtd. Captain Peter Mugisha as Kisoro RDC, Bizimana replied with vehement distaste.
“On my behalf and that of the people of Kisoro district, we shall always remember Captain Peter Mugisha as the man who had us beaten. He often operated in a dictatorial manner and he shall not be missed, Bizimana explained
Bizimana further commended incoming RDC Hajji Shafik Sekandi for previously handling Kisoro matters with tactic and wisdom.
“He was never a man to get involved in matters that did not concern him and he found a way to solve people’s problems with an impartial mind, if he is still the same man, we welcome him back, with one heart, Bizimana said
While speaking to Vomuhabura, Rtd. Captain Peter Mugisha says he has no case with anyone in Kisoro district.
Mugisha also said he has no reason to be apologetic to the chairman or anyone else because he served his duties as they were prescribed to him.
Rtd. Captain Peter Mugisha will always be remembered for his tough stance on all Ugandans getting vaccinated for covid-19 during the first mass campaign resulting in 88% coverage.
His stick approach, though effective in some instances, made him a man hated by most, in the political class who still believe the carrot was the better approach.
All eyes now rest on Hajji Shafik Sekandi and his deputy Robert Tukamuhebwa to deliver to a district greatly disgruntled politically due to Presidential pledges, long overdue.
