Ven. Gad Nzabonimpa, was on Sunday installed as the Archdeacon of the newly created Kabami Archdeaconry, a colourful function attended by hundreds of Christians.
Bishop Mbitse Godfrey, speaking to the congregants, decried moral decadence among children.
He referenced to an awful experience when he was ignored by learners that were coming from school recently.
“I was walking with Maama Anna to the Cathedral for the Lenten Service and on the way, we met children returning home from school. Surprisingly, when we greeted them, they did not respond. This portrayed bad behaviors from these pupils who should ultimately respect elders in the society,” Said Bishop Mbitse.
The Bishop therefore called on parents to ensure that moral values are imparted among their Children, which will strengthen societal norms and standards.
Bishop Mbitse further condemned disobedience among Christians especially transferable ministers in his vineyard and civil servants who refuse transfers.
“I wonder why a person who claims to be called by God and born again to serve everyone and everywhere, would refuse a transfer, labelling it hate by the transferring authority!” he wondered.
“People should watch and know that whoever refuses transfer was not called by God and is self-centered. If transfer means hate, then it’s you who hated yourself first when you joined a transferable ministry. Stop sowing seeds of hatred and bitterness to your children and entire family that you are hated by the transferring authority doing its work.”
At the function, Bishop Mbitse officially handed over the Archdeaconry vehicle to Ven Nzabonimpa, just after the installation.

The Muhabura Diocesan Secretary, Rev Steven Rizaza, noted that the Kabami Parish Council had requested for the Archdeaconry status, which was approved by the Diocesan Council.
The new Kabami Archdeaconry is constituted by four parishes of Karago, Maregamo, Chibumba and Kabami itself.
Political leaders that include the Kisoro District Woman Member of Parliament, Akifeza Grace Ngabirano and Dr James Nsaba Buturo of Bufumbira East were in attendance.
Located in Chahafi Town Council, Kabami becomes the sixth Archdeacon of Muhabura Diocese.
The installation wrapped up Archdeacon installations in the Diocese of Muhabura that began on Feb 23, 2025 at Iryaruvumba Archdeaconry, followed by Gisorora Archdeaconry the mother of the new Kabami Archdeaconry, then Kabindi Archdeaconry and finally Kabami Archdeaconry as per Bishop’s annual itinerary.
