The Kisoro District Chief Administrative Officer, Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala has called for continued calm among Kisoro District’s pensioners who are have not received full payments for close to four months.
Hajji Badru Mayanja said his office has written several letters to the Ministry of Finance seeking a positive response to the pensioners’ financial dilemma.
According to Mayanja, his office has also engaged the District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Sarah Mateke and Bukimbiri County MP Eddie Kwizera to advocate for the quick release of the funds.
The payments have been irregular as only 95 Million Shillings out of 135 Million Shillings for each month has been coming to the district account.

700 pensioners, under their association, Kisoro District Local Government Pensioners say times have become extremely hard due to financial constraints.
The pensioners recently stormed the Office of the CAO seeking an explanation about the delays in the release of funds.
