Mammoth Crowds yesterday turned up in Nyanamo Town Council, Bukimbiri County, Kisoro district to see Ugandan Prime Minister Rt. Hon Robinah Nabbanja who came to canvass votes for the Bukimbiri County NRM flag bearer Eddy Kwizera Wa Gahungu.
The Bukimbiri County By elections are slated to take place, later this week, on the 11th of August 2022.
Rt. Hon Nabbanja, who arrived on a helicopter ride was warmly received and accompanied by the Minister of State for Finance (General Duties) Henry Musasizi, Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament Prossy Akampurira Mbabazi and several other dignitaries including Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) from seven districts.
While addressing the masses, Nabbanja said she had traveled to Bukimbiri on the request of President Yoweri Museveni, whose jets are currently being serviced.
Nabbanja animatedly reminded the people of Bukimbiri that the National Ruling party (NRM) is still in control of the country’s affairs and is more than capable to address issues in Bukimbiri.
She said some personalities in the Bukimbiri County by-election campaigns are hoodwinking Ugandans to believe that one of the independent candidates belongs to the bus.
“We do not have any independent candidate in the NRM, neither are we involving ourselves in the affairs of other parties, the President of Uganda and the entire NRM party is supporting Eddie Kwizera Wa Gahungu, the NRM flag bearer, Nabbanja stressed.
The Minister of State for Finance (General Duties) Henry Musasizi urged the people of Bukimbiri to vote Eddie Kwizera to Parliament because he is a well-tested politician who is not afraid to take on corruption that has affected development in the country.
Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament Prossy Akampurira Mbabazi reminded the people of Bukimbiri and the people of Kisoro not to abandon their love for the NRM party which they have exhibited for many years.
Hon. Mbabazi said Eddie Kwizera is hardworking and more than capable to delivery services to the newly formed County.
While addressing an excited crowd, Mr. Kwizera told the voters to make their vote count by choosing wisely the next leader of Bukimbiri County.
