Results from COVID-19 tests done on July 4 confirmed 12 new cases, raising the cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans to 939.
The 12 new cases are all Ugandans. They include 2 truck drivers from Malaba and Mutukula border points, 7 contacts from Amuru and 3 Ugandans who returned from abroad, 1 South Africa and 2 from DRC.
Meanwhile, 11 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted.
Today, Uganda has 197 active cases on admission, who include 167 Ugandans, 25 foreigners and 5 refugees.
Total recoveries stand at 891, both Ugandans and Foreigners.
On Saturday, Uganda tested 1,240 samples from Points of Entry and 863 samples from alerts and contacts.
