Security in Kisoro district has today started an operation targeting motorists misusing the travel permits in the district.
The operation was conducted in the central Kisoro town and it was led by the Kisoro Resident District Commission retired Captain Peter Mugisha who said that the operation followed a resolution by District Covid-19 Task Force which he heads.
RDC said that they are arresting all vehicles that are being driven in town without movement permits.
It was observed that all passenger vehicles were being stopped and drivers asked to present documents that allow them to travel. Even the vehicles of essential workers were being stopped during the operation near DFCU bank along Kisoro-Kabale road.

The district covid-19 task force agreed to withdraw all the movements that were issued after learning that some people are misusing them.
Last month the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni banned all vehicles on roads as one way to curb the spread of coronavirus.
