Gorilla 🦍 highland sc, a popular football club in the region has recently found a strong competitor in the names of Mutolere FC (subject to changing the name into sc Volcanoes).
Mutolere SC, a Newly promoted side into the Western regional league under the WRFA has been impressive from the start, winning all it’s 8 matches and conceding only once.
It has also progressed through the last stages of the stan binc Uganda cup to now the round of 32, making it competitive not only within the region but also at the national level.
However, following it’s demolition of it’s neighbours (Gorilla highland sc) by a 6:0 scoreline on Sunday 15, February 2025 at Mashaka Playground in Mutolere, Nyakabande Subcounty, supernatural powers claims have been slapped onto them.
on different social media platforms including WhatsApp groups, the claims are said to be from one of the executive of Gorilla highland sc, Mr. Nsabiyumva Steven aka Mr. Lee.
Speaking to our reporter, he did not refute the claims and went on to noted that SC Volcanoes have ill intentions for him as an individual basically because of his contribution to the development of Gorilla highland sc.
He also shared a photo of one of his player’s foot, that appeared swollen in nature. it’s not clear whether it’s an evidence to the witchcraft claims.
According to Bukimbiri times, a local news website in Kisoro,
Sc volcanoes were quick to fire back against the same witchcraft claims noting that their impressive form is as a result of hard work, training and playing as a team.
Although there’s no official complaint from Gorilla highland sc, SC Volcanoes released a statement dated 16th February 2026, with the club describing the claims as unprofessional, unfounded, and lacking sportsmanship.
According to the club, such results underscore structured preparation rather than anything mystical.
