Bemera has also been serving as the Director of Education (DOS) at St. Joseph’s Kinanira Secondary School where he was loved by the students and staff alike.

He will be replaced by curate Bigiromuhangi Felix who has been in Priesthood for at least two months.

Parish Priest for St. Joseph’s Kinanira Rev. Fr. Havugimana Francis said his longtime friend and colleague will be dearly missed.

He however praised him for his commitment towards community outreaches where he prayed for the sick.

Havugimana described his friend as a pragmatic person who never sat around waiting for a solution but would get involved in fixing damaged mechanical equipment as well as listening to the students and guiding them well.

Speaking on behalf of the Christians, Iyamulemye Spriano, the chairperson of Christians Council of Kinanira Parish said the Christians learnt a lot from Fr. Bemera who was exemplary, patient and always willing to help people in need.

Rev. Fr. Bemera first served as the Rwamagaya Parish assistant Priest between 1998 and 2001 after which he was sent to Sooko Parish as Assistant Priest.

For the next five years (2002-2007) he served as Mutolere Parish Assistant Priest moving on to Rwanyena Parish Priest (2007- 2012) after which he moved to Nyakishenyi as an assistant Parish Priest and then to Kinanira Parish as an assistant Priest.

Fr. Bemera said he was pleased to have serviced faithfully for seven years at Kinanira Catholic Parish and looks forward to bring joy, peace and God’s work to Rubanda district.
