The Electoral commission Kisoro branch has today morning received Polling materials for the Bukimbiri county by-election slated for Thursday this week.
The materials were received by the Kisoro district Returning Officer Daniel Nayebare. Security presence was heavy and visible seen.
Nayebare revealed that the polling materials include 72 metallic black boxes containing ballot papers and election materials, 80 packs of transparent boxes where vote shall be cast, 80 basins, 75 rolls of condoning tape and 72 solar lamps.
He said that the polling materials will be kept under lock and key at Electoral Commission Offices in Kisoro Municipality until the actual day of voting.
According to Nayebare, the polling materials will be transported by electoral commission teams directly to polling stations and not Sub counties at 4am.
He encouraged witnesses to come and see the working on that day to ensure a fair and transparent election.
Bukimbiri County seat fell vacant following a high court order.
A total of four candidates are now vying for the seat of Bukimbiri County Member of Parliament.
