KISORO; Nzovu girls’ football team has been crowned champions of the 2020 edition of the Kisoro district girls tourney after beating Kisoro Young Simba by a goal to nil at a final played on 5th January 2021 at Shaza Play ground.
Nzovu girls mixed up with Youn Simba girls
Nzovu girls FC players played a physical game taking advantage of their energetic young, fat but tall girls against tiny Young Simba Players who looked like atoms on the pitch.
The game was played in two halves of 35 minutes each.
The first 35 Minutes of first half ended in a goalless draw but Akankwasa Faith’s lone goal in the last minutes of second half was enough to earn Nzovu a trophy and 150,000 shillings prize.
Zonvu girls FC Lines Coach, Isaac Niyonsaba hailed her girls’ performance at their first showdown in a competitive tournament.
He also refuted allegations that his team had “abacuba” insisting that his team has players signed from outside Kisoro district.The Kisoro Young Simba girls team Manager who doubles as Kisoro DFA delegate at the region, Alex Nayambajje says that his team was unlucky but despite a remarkable performance against another best team.
He also noted that a multiple of injuries at his club contributed to his team’s loss singling out lack of lethalness upfront.

Nzovu girls fc camptain recieves a trophy
All three best teams were awarded Cash money with Champions Nzovu girls fc getting both a trophy and 150,000 shillings, Young Simba was given 100,000 shillings while third placed Gorilla girls fc got only 50,000 shillings.
The prizes were given out by Mrs. Mujabwami Mercurate, a wife to Rev. Mujabwami. She was supported by the DFA chairman Mr. Benon Gacucu and Referees chairman Twangyirayezu stanely.

While giving out the Prizes, Mrs Mujabwami encouraged girls to love football and play it with passion if they are to gain from it.
DFA Chairman Gacucu hailed the talent in Kisoro girls asking them to keep training and focus higher because they may end up into the elite league.
The final also was a curtain raiser for the Upcoming district girl’s league that will start in April this year.
