The leadership of Nyarubuye Sub County, which recently gave rise to Rukundo Town Council, has proposed the formation of a new parish for better service delivery.
Nyarubuye has been with two parishes of Busengo and Karambi, even before the creation of Rukundo Town Council. Nyarubuye Chairperson Ndibyariye Ernest says an application was made to the district council for the formation of Ruko Parish, which will have villages cut off from both Busengo and Karambi.
He revealed that some big villages will be split up. He gave an example of Gapfurizo village that can be split into three, Rutundwe into two, and others.
Ernest added that if their request is granted Karambi will have seven villages, while the new Ruko parish will have five villages namely; Ruko, Mwaro, Bukebeka, Kabwotsa and Kanyando villages.
Meanwhile, the area MP, John Kamara Nizeyimana says that due to the rainy season, many roads have become impassable. He told Voice of Muhabura that he is going to fill up potholes that have developed in Mwaro-Rugabano road with stones, as he appeals to the district leadership to grade it.
Hon Kamara also appealed to residents of Busengo parish to cooperate and remain patient with Kukabitagwa bridge, as the works department promised to finish the work in two weeks.
