“We have two positive cases of Covid-19 cases at the transit camp. These two were discovered among the Congolese who had been living among the communities in Bunagana, Sekandi said
According to Sekandi, the two individuals along with their families have been isolated and are being monitored closely.
The total population at the holding center is 12,314.
Sekandi says 20 million shillings has been mobilized to by Partners to begin general cleaning in Bunagana town council today in order to avert any outbreak of Cholera which is very likely.
A weekend meeting with all the 34 LC I chairpersons, LCIIIs and LCV councilors of villages neighboring the border with Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo resolved that all Congolese still living in the communities have seven days to move to the transit camp without fail.
Ugandan Communities along the Bunagana border have since expressed frustration caused by Congolese who have refused to go to the camp.
Toilets have since been filled up while food in gardens have been stolen.
