An exciting conclusion to a well-organized radio event is the feedback coming from revelers who attended Voice of Muhabura Radio annual fete called Muhabura Festival.
The Leading Voice organized this year’s event to mark 15 years of broadcast services in Kigezi region.
Headline artists including Micho the Best from Rwanda and Gospel artist Paul Kimanuka did not disappoint the crowds who stayed with their eyes glued to the stage until after 2am the next day.
Security protocols were observed, and no incident has been reported.
The planned activities of the day brought people from as far as Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Among the exciting events include the friendly football match between Fans of Manchester United from Rubanda District against Kisoro Arsenal fans.
Hundreds of people turned up at Shaaza Playground to watch an exhilarating match that ended in a penalty shootout in favor of Fans of Manchester united.
The Guest of Honor and Bukimbiri County Member of Parliament Hon. Eddie Kwizera Wa Gahungu awarded the winning team a cash prize of 900,000 Ugandan Shillings and the Kisoro Arsenal Fans walked away with 250,000 Ugandan Shillings.
Hon. Kwizera said such events organized by the radio have the capacity to create positive change in the community.
He promised to follow up a more expedient way to upgrade Shaaza Playgrounds which is often affected by too water whenever it rains.
Musical performances, service providers ably managed to meet the expectations of all those in attendance.
Managing Director of Voice of Muhabura Prince Trevor Mugenga said the radio has grown by leaps and bounds thanks to the loyal listenership from around the entire Kigezi region.
Mugenga said it is part of the radio plans to keep organizing such events that can unite the public.
