Lions Club of Kisoro in partnership with Lions Club of Mbarara have broaden their reach by involving University Students at Metropolitan International University Main Campus in Kisoro District in tree planting activities.
63 volunteers from MIU campus participated in planting over 50 fruit trees planted around the campus premises.
Sison Mugisha, the Lions Club President of Kisoro said the club is seeking to incorporate the Leo’s Club that will have the youth from Kisoro and Mbarara participate in a range of activities.
Mugisha said planting fruit trees within the campus premises will serve two keys purposes which include providing necessary shade to relax and fruit to eat during the ripening season.
The fruit trees that were planted include Paw Paw, Mangoes and Oranges.
