Mukiza was selected by President Yoweri Museveni to manage Uganda Investment Authority after a long period of black lash and opposition from other interested parties.

“Am greatly pleased to know that the people of Kisoro never abandoned me in times of uncertainty. On top of that, the district leadership put aside their political differences to ensure 620 acres were secured for industrialization”, Mukiza explained.

A total of 620 acres of land were secured in Bunagana meant for industrialization.

Mukiza noted that a surveyor from the authority will be sent as the process to procure funds from Government begins to ensure electricity, roads and water are connected to the prime location.

He called Kisoro people to remain hospitable because it will continue to attract potential investors to the region.

Kisoro LCV chairperson Abel Bizimana said President Museveni, in his wisdom selected Mukiza because he is a man above reproach and has done all it takes to achieve his current position.

Bizimana noted that Kisoro district has always been loyal to the current Government and will continue to do so therefore it is only right that development is realized in the region.

MPs speak out

Bufumbira North Member of Parliament Hon John Kamala said Industrialization has elevated the income status of residents in the area. He noted that tea growing and processing has added value to kisoro and with the introduction of an industrial park, poverty at household level will be a thing of the past.

State Minister for children and Youth Affairs Sarah Nyirabashitsi said Mukiza has an uphill task of making Uganda attracting for business however he is very competent. She advised him to remain a man of integrity and someone who remains in touch with the ordinary Ugandans.
