It is has been said; that once bitten, twice shy however, this statement couldn’t be more far from the truth for Kisoro Municipal councilor for Central division Alex Nambajimana who has twice been nominated for the positions of district Vice chairperson and twice, he has been rejected.
During a Council meeting held at Seseme Girls Main hall yesterday, Nambajimana’s fate was sealed after the 26 district councilors voted against his appointment.
This follows a similar decision in the previous council when a number of strong willed councilors described his appointment as unsuitable for the role of Vice Chairperson.
Nambajimana, who is who a close friend and ally to the re-elected district chairperson Abel Bizimana could have walked into the council hall yesterday, with complete confidence in “big brother’s assurances” that it would be a walk over, but the truth was far from it.
DUST RISES AS COUNCILORS OPEN VERBAL FIRE
No sooner than the district Speaker Amos Hakizimana had opened the floor for discussions than, Murora Sub county Councilor Innocent Irankunda Kagenza said the appointment of Alex Nambajimana as the Vice Chairperson of Kisoro District is unacceptable.
In his Submission, Innocent Kagenza stated that Nambajimana has been implicated in land grabbing scandals including Rugina land, Land near Sawa Sawa Motel in Nyamagana ward in Kisoro Municipality.
Hon. Kagenza further pointed out that the Councilor’s conduct in the recent past raises the question on whether he has the capacity to be a diplomatic and understanding leader after he was involved in a fist fight with another councilor James Agaba of Southern division.
Kagenza said having Chairman Abel Bizimana and Nambajimana working in the same office will not be a healthy combination because both leaders have been accused for acts of impunity.
Upon hearing Councilor Kagenza’s statement, Kisoro district LCV chairperson Abel Bizimana rose to his feet to defend himself. His actions soon came with a barrage of words, some to indecent to be repeated for our dear readers.
Ooh well, you deserve to know the truth, so here goes…
Chairman Bizimana cautioned Councilor Kagenza against tarnishing his name and quickly mentioned that it was Nambajimana Alex on trial and not Abel Bizimana.
He further advised the councilor to learn respect for his elders.
“Uracyarumwana muto, just stay humble, “Bizimana shouted Obscenities.
Cue in…….Zulu Pie Abuse…..

The chairman‘s outburst prompted district Speaker Amos Hakizimana to order Councilor Kagenza Innocent to withdraw the statements of the Chairman.
“Innocent the matter on table for discussion is Nambajimana not Bizimana therefore withdraw the statements made against the chairman.” Speaker Hakizimana said
A determined Councilor Kagenza withdrew the statements and moved a motion rejecting the approval of Nambajimana Alex as the Vice Chairperson Kisoro district.
NAMBAJIMANA SPEAKS OUT
Central division Councilor Alex Nambajimana denied all allegations calling them baseless.
Councilor Nambajimana warned his honorable colleague Innocent Kagenza against being Malicious. He said that Kagenza was given money to tarnish his name adding that he should avoid selling his soul to the devil at this early stage in politics because they will ruin his life.
“If you have been bought to spoil my name, man, you are still young, better eat little and have Peace. “Nambajimana told Kagenza
