The Kisoro District Lands Officer Thomas Sekabanza and Kabami Secondary School Head Teacher Shephert Gatangaza become the newest members of Kisoro Lions Club following an induction ceremony that took place yesterday.
District Governor 411B Dr. Stanley K. Bubikire presided over the ceremony and praised the group in Kisoro for ably leading by example which has attracted the participation of new members.
Dr. Bubikire, a medical consultant said the main objective of belonging to Lions Club is to promote sustainable living by supporting health programs as well as taking care of the environment.
Lions Club President Sison Mugisha led the delegation through a series of activities including tree planting at St. Francis Hospital Mutolere and a luncheon at Mondi Lodge in Kisoro Municipality.
Mugisha commended the new members for choosing to entrust their time and resources to serving the community through Lions Club.
He said power to change the world exists in numbers and people willing to sacrifice their comfort to help others improve their quality of life.
Lions Club Kisoro currently has over 30 members and is planning to recruit Leos at Metropolitan International University, main Campus.
Sekabanza and Gatangaza pledged to be active members and promised to share ideas that can help change Kisoro into a better place.
