The Office of the President has deployed Hajji Badru Ssebyala to serve as the new Kisoro Resident District Commissioner (RDC), replacing beloved Hajji Shafiq Sekandi, who left Kisoro seeking to pursue further Studies in the United Kingdom (UK)
Ssebyala who has been serving in Bugiri district takes the top job in the district as head of Security and monitoring of Government projects.
Ssebyala says he is prepared to hit the ground running, beginning with monitoring of the Parish Development Model (PDM) project where several groups are believed to be altering their enterprise projects which is likely to cause audit queries and Government loss down the road.
Ssebyala says taking over from Hajji Shafiq Sekandi will not be an easy task however he pledges to work hand in hand with other district leaders on the basis of truth and transparency.
The two Government cadres worked closely while Hajji Shafiq Sekandi was in Kanungu as RDC and Hajji Ssebyala was deputy RDC in Rubanda district.
Hajji Ssebyala comes to Kisoro district almost two weeks after Hajji Shafiq Sekandi left Kisoro to go for further studies in the United Kingdom.
He finds the district fairly calm with Schools re-opened for the third term and some communities still anxious about gun violence following proliferation of unregistered firearms from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
