Police in Kisoro has confirmed the death of one person who was involved in a road accident in Kanaba.
The deceased has been identified as Nyamihanda Jerimina, 84yrs and resident of Mifunda cell, Kabanyonyi parish, Buhara Sub County in Kabale District.
According to Kigezi region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate, the vehicle involved in the accident was a Toyota Premio registration number UAQ 365D being driven by Fr. Vincent Turinawe 38yrs, priest at Kangole parish Moroto district.
According to Maate, the vehicle was carrying other passengers including. Sr. Arinaitwe Anexentia, 45yrs and resident of Rushoroza diocesan parish, Kabale District, Asimwe Donanta,40yrs, business woman and resident of Kiruhura District and Tibizuka Mantilda,70yrs, peasant and resident of Buhara s/county in Kabale District.
“The accident occurred today 16.09.2021 at about 12:00hrs at Kanaba hills and corners along Kisoro Kabale road in Kisoro district. All survivors with serious injuries are currently admitted at St Francis hospitals Mutolere”, said Maate
POLICE ACTION.
The accident Scene was visited by Acting O.C traffic Kisoro, No.31528 Sgt. Otole Yofasi and team. Preliminary cause, according to the Police is that driver lost control and overturned several times before hitting a road side rocky cliff.
The Wreckage of the vehicle was towed and parked at Kisoro police station pending I.O.V inspection.
Postmortem examination of the deceased was carried out and body handed over to relatives for Burial arrangements.
