Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has chosen Livingstone Mbabazi as his assistant, after his second unveiling as the Uganda Cranes head coach for the next three years.
The head coach, upon being confirmed by FUFA as the next Uganda Cranes coach in July was handed a contractual mandate to name his backroom staff.
While addressing the media on Tuesday at the FUFA House in Mengo, Micho announced a blended backroom team comprising of individuals he has worked with and figures synonymous with the Uganda Cranes.
Micho has chosen to work with Frank Plaine (director of performance), who he worked with at Orlando Pirates. Mbabazi will be his assistant as Fred Kajoba will remain as the goalkeeper coach
Former Cranes striker and captain Geoffrey Massa has been appointed as the Manager, and Ivan Ssewanyana has also been named as a physiotherapist.
Mbabazi, an ex-Cranes international has become a mainstay on the national football coaching team. During McKinstry’s time and even after his departure, Mbabazi was employed as an assistant coach.
Kajoba, who assisted Micho with the goalkeeping duties during his first stint in 2013, has once again been picked to retain the spot he has maintained from the Serbian, to Sebastien Dessabre, to lately Jonathan McKinstry and then back with Micho.
