Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba has supported the Federation of Uganda Football Associations’ decision to re-employ Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic as head coach for the Cranes.
Micho was confirmed into the role by the football governing body on Tuesday evening for his second stint, having been around between 2013-2017.
In an exclusive interview with voice of Muhabura, Kajoba spoke fondly of the man with whom he previously worked for four years.
“FUFA did well to bring Micho back because he is one of the few coaches on the continent who understand Ugandan football. So, I think it will be good news for the national team,” he stated.
“He respects people he works with. He will always give you chances to improve, and he is generally one person who wishes others well,” added the soft-spoken tactician.
The former Vipers SC head coach also highlighted that the Serbian’s return came at the right time as the nation aims to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“The national team has a lot of youngsters, so his return is good news for them and for the country as we look towards qualifying for the world cup.”
Kajoba is expected to keep his position as goalkeeper’s coach, having continued in the same role with Sebastien Desabre, Jonathan Mckinstry and interim coach Abdallah Mubiru.
