Kabale mob burns man who killed his nephew

Kabale – A mob in Kabale district on Sunday lynched a 37-year-old man for hacking his three-year-old nephew to death.

The deceased is Franko Turyamushanga, a resident of Kanyankwanzi village, Kitumba Sub-county in Kabale district.

Esau Bakaruhire, the Kitumba sub-county LC 3 Chairperson says that it all started when Turyamushanga returned home from Kanyankwanzi trading center around 2 pm yesterday.

On his arrival home, he picked an axe and descended on his three-year-old nephew identified as Crescent Muhwezi, and killed him on spot. The deceased boy’s grandmother Leunida Nyinakiiza, made an alarm, forcing Turyamushanga to take off.

The area residents then converged and launched a manhunt for Turyamushanga and lynched him. They later burnt his body to ashes to avenge the murder of the three-year-old boy.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying that two bodies are lying at Kabale Regional Referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
