Inter Milan plan to make a fresh bid to sign Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer, according to reports in France.
Talks over a potential player exchange deal fizzled out before Antonio Conte’s side travelled to Cologne for the Europa League finals, but now Inter are set to renew their interest in the 23-year-old.
RMC Sport claim Daniel Levy is keen to give the Frenchman, who completed a £55million move from Lyon, a chance to kickstart his career.
The Spurs chairman is reluctant to take a hit on such an outlay only 13 months after signing Ndombele, and he believes the player can excel in 2020-21 under the leadership of Jose Mourinho.
After arriving as the club’s record signing Ndombele scored on his debut against Aston Villa but struggled for match fitness early on.
His fitness issues continued until November when Mauricio Pochettino was dismissed fromTottenham Hotspur Stadium, but he has failed to find favour under new manager Jose Mourinho.
After lockdown he failed to start a single game and featured for just over an hour in total as Spurs scraped a sixth place finish and a Europa League spot in his absence.
The midfielder has not started for the north London side since March when he was hauled off at half-time in a 1-1 draw at Burnley which led to fierce public criticism of his efforts by Mourinho.
Barcelona have also been linked with the former Lyon man, however they are likely to baulk at the likely asking price Levy would demand.
Meanwhile, Mourinho is on the look out for a right back in the transfer market, as he looks to strengthen his defence heading into the new season.
