Christians of Hope Mission Uganda based in Rubuguri Town Council will be smiling to church this Christmas after the district council resolved to re-open the church.
Hope Mission Church has been under key and lock following an order by the State House and the office of the Kisoro Resident District Commissioner.
The church that is set to re-open on Sunday 25th December 2022 on Christmas day was closed following unresolved conflicts between Bishop Kiiza Aloysius and the Romanian investors.
The church pre-dominantly serves the Batwa as well as the entire community.
The Romanian investors, who have managed to construct a children’s home, a primary school and a hospital have been asked for protection from Government against threats from Bishop Kiiza’s team.
Kisoro district Chief Administrative officer Hajji Badru Mayanja confirmed the development following a decision by the district councilors.
“We strongly believe that if Court does not interject, we are ready to have the church re-open this Christmas so that the people who have been praying outside can use the church”, Mayanja explained.
Rubuguri Town Council LCV councilor Deus Byamugisha said it was high time for the people of Rubuguri to be given justice. He said the district is committed to solving any problem arising in Rubuguri town council.
