Hillary Bisanga joins Uganda Prisons Top Leadership

The Commissioner General of Prisons Dr. Johnson Byabashaija has today presided over the piping ceremony of 141 newly appointed and promoted Senior Officers of Uganda Prisons Services.

Among the decorated officers include Kisoro district’s very own Hillary Bisanga, who has been appointed to Assistant Commissioner General of Prisons (Director of Human Resource Management)

Dr. Byabashaija congratulated the officers and thanked the promotional boards for thorough assessment of staff due to be promoted.

“Let these new appointments and promotions be the start of a new beginning for the service to move forward in the right direction”, Can. Byabashaija said.

Bisanga, a resident of Kasemisego Village, Southern Ward in Kisoro Municipality says he has been serving the Uganda Prisons Services for the last 22 years.

Bisanga thanked the President of Uganda H.E Yoweri Museveni for considering him for the promotion.

The new position places Mr. Bisanga in the third highest position in the Uganda Prisons Management.

He pledged to contribute positively to the development of the human resource in the Prisons services by ensuring that people can develop themselves and the Country at large.

“Professionalism and discipline are vital in service to the country”, Bisanga explained.

Bisanga is also the current chairperson of the Ubuntu Bafumbira United Association which was primarily established to bring together Bafumbira around the world for common causes including Unity and Culture.

He noted that his passion has always been to serve people particularly those who are vulnerable and less privileged, and the association provides such a platform.

Under Ubuntu, Mr. Bisanga believes that Ubuntu is necessary for the people of Kisoro to put across various agendas of development and harmony.

Mr. Robert Munanura, Assistant Commissioner General of Prisons (Director of Prisons Production, Enterprise and Engineering)

Mr. Milton Tiyo, Assistant Commissioner General of Prisons (Director of Correctional Services)

Mr. John Bosco Tumwebaze, Assistant Commissioner General of Prisons (Director of Prisons Administration)
