German Couple Marliese and Michael Arns, working with Together for Uganda project have been praised for their efforts in starting the first Montessori School in the district called UBUNTU Children’s Literacy Center.
During a function held at the school grounds yesterday, Mutolere Hospital Administrator Pontius Mayunga said the new School has baby and middle class with 38 pupils already.
According to Mayunga, the quality of education at UBUNTU seeks to empower young learners to be able to compete with other children studying in cities and municipalities.
Mayunga said the German couple have managed to sponsor many students in education and are good friends of Kisoro.
Several beneficiaries from Kisoro have managed to complete their education, fully sponsored by German friends.
Steven Mfitumukiza, the School’s head teacher said young learners are being equipped with practical skills for the future.
As literacy center, UBUNTU seeks to grow its campus including Primary, Secondary and eventually university.
Mfitumukiza says it’s a long-term plan however it is possible because the communities around have embraced the idea.
Marliese Arns said she has plans to start UBUNTU School in Germany.
