The market Vendors who were overcrowded and not observing social distance were forced out by the district covid-19 task force chairperson who doubles as the RDC but later allowed a few authorized vendors to access the market.
Speaking to voice of Muhabura, Sellers accused the RDC of being too harsh by beating and chasing them out of the market without prior notice, leading to loss of stock, money and property during the scuffle to get out of the market.

Vendors appealed to the district task force for lenience because their only way of survival is business. They also noted that some food items and seeds come from Bukimbiri County and they were not registered as authorized vendors in Gatimba Market.
The Kisoro Municipality Speaker, Nsubuga Geoffrey advised the Municipal management to establish an extra food market because one market cannot allow social distance despite the need to do so by sellers.
The Kisoro Resident district Commissioner, retired Captain Peter Mugisha advised all Vendors interested to work from Gatimba market on a daily basis to register with the municipal authorities.
Meanwhile by press time, registered vendors were being read and allowed to enter into the market despite having no customers.
