On 15th July 2021, Kawowo Sports reliably reported the capture of fast paced forward Yusuf Sharif Saaka by Arua Hill Sports Club from Kyetume.
Saaka who had spent five seasons at the Slaughters had become a free agent when his employment contract expired.
On Sunday, 25th July 2021, Saaka took to his official Twitter handle and officially bid farewell to the Kyetume family.
“To Kyetume FC entire club and the fans thank you for the beautiful memories for over those years. I am Kongolo” he twitted.
Saaka played for Kyetume since the lower stages of the club before it was promoted to the second division and eventually the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
With the demotion of the club to the second division again at the end of the 2020 -2021 season, Saaka indicated publicly that he would move on for greener pastures.
Arua Hill reacted swiftly to beat off severe competition from Mbarara City, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and army side Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) to secure the signature of Saaka after both parties agreed upon the personal terms.
Saaka was Kyetume’s top scorer last season with eight goals to his name in all competitions (Uganda Cup and Uganda Premier League).
At Arua Hill, he is expected to reunite with head coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi who once worked with him at Kyetume.
Christened as “Kongolo”, Arua Hill has also signed Calvary’s attacking midfielder Junior Andama and Blacks Power playmaker Innocent Maduka.
