Voice of Muhabura radio, located in Kisoro district yesterday held a celebration meant to celebrate 14 years existence and service to the community.
The mega event attracted hundreds of revelers of age groups, some of whom came to witness the first ever cultural competitions, others a day with the children to play and have fun.
Voice of Muhabura, started back in 2008 with the objective of serving the communities in Kisoro with information, entertainment and a platform for listeners to express their opinions.
Since that time, the radio has evolved, now have an opportunity to serve a wider audience using its online platforms including a live stream on www.vomuhabura.com as well as @vomuhabura.
Managing director of Voice of Muhabura commended the staff of the radio who made DUNDA festival 2022 colorful and well-coordinated.
He further appreciated all service providers and stage performers for their commitment to the radio.
Trevor said the radio is in the pipeline of introducing a television that will bring more visibility to the district.
According to Mr. Mugenga, works are underway and the possibility of having the first ever television in Kisoro is an exciting prospect.
“Kisoro is home to some of the most unique tourism attractions and it is our responsibility to ensure that we open up the region to the rest of the world, therefore our next events will focus on tourism and culture.
A total of 16 stage performers including Ray G kept the audience engaged and entertained this the wee hours of the next morning.
The rains that fell did not manage to deter the revelers who had access to food and drinks.
