If you have lived in Kisoro, Rubanda and Kabale districts long enough, you quickly learn that intermittent power supply is a major reason for any investor to worry.

Seasoned Businessman and now evangelist, Andrew Sebutenga, owns and runs a maize milling plant in Nyarusiza Sub County.

Sebutenga says, without finding a way of stealing power, many people quick abandon doing business in Kisoro.

“I certainly do not steal power, but I know of some who do, just to remain afloat. The power tariffs are just too high, and yet the supply is so irregular, Sebutenga explains.

A man well on his way to retirement, Sebutenga says he started doing business at the age of 13, one year after his father passed away.

“I did not have the luxury of waiting on anyone. My father was gone, and the rest of my siblings looked to me, so I began crossing into Rwanda to look for household items to sell back home, Sebutenga says.

Many years down the road, the name Sebutenga resonates among Bafumbira circles, both in Kampala and in Kisoro for his business acumen.

His signature number plate on his grey land cruiser VX EZKL 18 32, lets people know of his arrival, from a distance.

“Many people who become successful tend to reward their own efforts by recognizing themselves and there’s no harm in that, however I decided to remind myself, that it was only by God’s direct involvement in my life, that I became the man, I am today”, Sebutenga stresses

According to Mr. Sebutenga, the Industrial Park will help investors address issues of sporadic power supply that discourages business growth.

He urged the communities to embrace the future of industrialization by adding value to everything they plant or make.

Mr. Sebutenga, now spends a great deal of time at Chuho water source where he is developing a tourism site.

Interesting to note, is that he has reserved a special site for people wishing to get baptized to use, as a preaching ground.

“I, too got baptized at Chuho many years ago and I feel it is only right that others, who come for the same purpose, have a special place to change and listen to the word of God”, He says
