Egyptian outfit Al Ahly once again encrypted their name on the winners list of the CAF Champions League after a dominant display against Kaizer Chiefs in the final on Saturday.
The Red Devils ran riot against their South African opponents, wining 3-0 to extend their record of the coveted title to ten.
Kaizer Chiefs who were playing in the final for the first time ended the game with a player less after Happy Mashaine was sent off at the stroke of halftime.
Mohamed Sherif opened the scoring eight minutes into the second stanza with a neat finish past goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi.
He collected a pass from Akram Tawfik and run past the Chiefs’ defence before drilling home from a tight angle.
This was followed by goals from Magdi Afsha and Amr El-Sulaya to complete a well done job.
Afsha doubled the lead eleven minutes later with a curling shot from the edge of the box before El-Sulaya put the icing on the cake in the 74th minute.
This was the second CAF Champions League title for manager Pitso Mosimane at Al Ahly and the third in his career, the other coming at Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016.
